Julia discovered her passion for the human gut microbiome during her undergraduate studies in Microbiology. She expanded her expertise through internships in laboratories in Spain and the Netherlands, where she deepened her microbiological knowledge and research skills. During her Master's studies, Julia specialized in inflammation and pathophysiology, gaining a broad understanding of common health issues and the immune system's complexity. This foundation enabled her to fully explore the potential of the gut microbiome and probiotics, which she now focuses on in her PhD research. Fascinated by the real-life applications of her studies, she is engaged in popularizing knowledge and raising more awareness towards gut health and proper nutrition. The Healthy Coffee calculator is a perfect example of how she uses her thorough research to provide people with insightful and actionable tips to build healthier habits.
Since her master's, Julia has presented her research at multiple conferences. While her research is still ongoing, she uses her passion for writing to publish scientific reviews. She is also dedicated to inspiring younger generations to pursue science, mentoring several Bachelor's and Master's students, organizing laboratory workshops, and regularly participating in the Science Picnic of Polish Radio, the Copernicus Science Centre, and the Science Festival.
