Physics student and member of the Institute of Physics, especially fond of its mathematical side. Finds that translating the world into equations makes it easier to comprehend. Believes that science being the “real” magic makes him a sorcerer, but somehow his spells have never helped him in CrossFit sessions nor during his explorations.

Swansea UniversityBachelor’s degree in Physics
Michael has always been interested in understanding how the world works, so he obtained a bachelor’s degree in Physics. During that time, he discovered his passion for all things health-related. After working on artificial aortic valves during a summer internship and attempting to make an artificial muscle for his final project, he was offered a PhD focusing on quantifying the fluid-structure interaction around complex geometries. Funded by the UK Atomic Energy Authority and supervised by the team from the Biomedical Engineering Simulation and Testing Lab, he focuses on the cooling of nuclear fusion reactors some days. In contrast, others are dedicated to medical devices, such as artificial heart valves. Being passionate about helping others, Michael teaches undergraduate students about programming and experimental mechanics. He is also certified by the International Sports Sciences Association as a specialist in bodybuilding, which aids his understanding of the human body and allows him to help others outside the laboratory.
