With an environmental mind, Kat is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Biomass Engineering and Bioeconomy. Kat joined Omni as an Italian and French translator. Professional background and credentials
After exploring several fields of science for her bachelor’s degree, Kat decided that battling plastic pollution and unsustainable practices in industry was the path she wanted to take. She first took a year to do marine research and ocean plastic data collection via scuba diving with ATMEC in Rayong, Thailand. Sadly, the outcomes were extremely heavy in terms of plastic pollution, mainly with single-use packaging. Hence, delving deeper into alternative biomaterials and changing unsustainable industries is one solution. Before pursuing her Master’s in Biological and Chemical Engineering of Biomaterials, Kat had an opportunity to work at the TerraCycle Thai Foundation, where she guided canal clean-ups and made study materials about plastic footprint. That is how she found out about Omni Calculator: through their useful Plastic Footprint Calculator. Being part of Omni is a special step in her career path. It allows her to create valuable tools in her fields of expertise, such as the Reduce Your Plastic Calculator and the Olympic Games Sustainability Calculator.
